As a Mental First Aid England Associate Trainer I deliver the Race Equality programme, as well as the full Programmes for the Youth and Adult products, Suicide First Aid Understanding Intervention and lite products too. All underpinned with a Counselling degree, Clinical Supervisor Training and an Adult Mental Health Nursing Qualification.
Making Konnections aims to review and support with developing core policies and procedures, basic Data Protection compliance within the act, understanding Business Structures, Safeguarding, Whistleblowing training, and product development.
I offer a range of Business Support ranging from one-to-one mentoring, to support with outlining and setting up your social enterprise to meet set objectives. I have a keen interest in due diligence and core capacity building for new or growing organisations particularly those that are community based, aiming to ensure Ethical Community Business practice is always at the forefront.
My key skills linked to service and process mapping having just undertaken the process for our CIC, in a range of accessible formats including video, written and audio to meet the needs of services we support.
I am also a community advocate, and chair person for the £1m fund coming into Lozells & Newtown with The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF), having undertaken Community Research in the feasibility stage, we held the soft launch with our community partner The Aston Villa Foundation. which was a huge success.
As a former Whistleblower, I also have experience within tribunals supporting others as well as representing myself in cases against the DWP, and other large organisations.
My background of supporting families around deaths in custody, has equipped me to review and read law and apply it to relevant situations, in particular the Human Rights Act 1998, and I have a keen interest In The Equality Act 2010.
As an independent teacher and trainer I develop and deliver workshops including around the controversial Stop & Search Power, implementing The Home Office’s ‘Best Use of Stop & Search‘ scheme. Also sitting as a member of the affiliated scrutiny panel for The West Midlands Police & Crime Commissioners office aiming to ensure the safe & Lawful implementation of the power.
My role is to ensure that the legal threshold has been met when scrutinising a search that has been carried out.
I offer a range of services on a sliding fee scale to meet the needs of businesses just starting out and those that are more established looking to sustain a larger capacity, including a shared office space to help get small projects off the ground.
